Choose how each image fits its frame

The width and height define the output shape. Ratio shortcuts change that shape; they do not find a subject or choose a crop automatically.

Crop / Fill

Fill the requested dimensions completely. Position controls decide which outer content stays visible when cropping is needed.

Fit

Keep the entire source image visible inside the requested dimensions. Transparent empty area may remain; JPEG exports that area as white.

Pad

Keep the entire source image visible and fill unused space with transparency or one solid color.

How to crop, fit, or pad images

  1. Add one or more JPEG, PNG, or WebP images.
  2. Enter an exact width and height, or choose a generic aspect ratio.
  3. Choose Crop / Fill, Fit, or Pad, then use the compact Rotate and Flip controls if needed.
  4. Click, tap, drag, use a position preset, or adjust the X/Y controls to position the image.
  5. Process locally, review Before & After, then download individual results or a ZIP.

Rotate and flip before framing

Rotate left or right in exact 90-degree steps, then flip across the rotated image's horizontal or vertical axis. Crop, Fit, and Pad always use the visible transformed image, and focal-position controls continue to describe its visible left, right, top, and bottom.

Apply one frame rule to a batch

Shared settings do not overwrite individual images until you choose Apply. The same dimensions, mode, and focal position can then be applied to every selected image. Different source proportions may still produce different crop regions, so each result remains reviewable.

Understand the result

Before & After shows the original and output format, dimensions, and file size. Cropping, fitting, or padding can produce a smaller or larger file; the result summary reports the actual change without assuming savings.

JPEG and WebP output are available. WebP can preserve transparent padding. JPEG cannot preserve alpha, so transparent Fit or Pad areas are exported as white.

Privacy, formats, and safety limits

Image decoding and processing happen locally in your browser. Add up to 20 images per batch, no more than 20 MB each. Source images are limited to 32 MP. Outputs can be at most 16,384 pixels on either side and 32 MP total.

PixQuota processes files sequentially and may ask you to split a large selection. If a ZIP exceeds its safety limit, successful individual downloads remain available.

Errors and recovery

  • If dimensions are invalid or exceed the output limit, enter smaller positive whole numbers and process again.
  • If one file cannot be read or processed, review its error; other valid images can continue.
  • If settings change after processing, the result is marked as needing processing so an outdated file is not downloaded.
  • If the preview is too narrow at an extreme ratio, choose a less extreme ratio or use the numeric position controls.

Common uses

  • Standardize product image dimensions.
  • Prepare website images at one fixed ratio.
  • Crop photos to a consistent canvas shape.
  • Add padding instead of cutting content.

Image cropper FAQ

Does the aspect-ratio control choose the subject?

No. It defines the output shape. You choose what remains visible with the preview and focal-position controls.

Can I avoid cropping?

Yes. Choose Fit to keep all source content with transparent space, or Pad to choose transparency or a solid background.

Why did my transparent area become white?

JPEG cannot store transparency. Choose WebP when you need transparent Fit or Pad areas.

In what order are rotation and flips applied?

Rotation is applied first. Horizontal and vertical flips then use the rotated image's visible axes before Crop, Fit, or Pad.
